Dr Seham Muhsen Ali Al-Shwayli

Dr. Seham Al-Shwayli is a doctoral candidate who recently graduated from the faculty of Education at Monash University, Clayton. Originally from Iraq, Seham holds a bachelor degree in Arts from Basra University in Iraq in 1996. Seham also holds a master’s degree in TESOL from Monash University in 2010. Seham has worked as an English teacher for twelve years in Iraq, and as an ESL teacher in Australia. Seham’s main research interests are Islam and Muslim identity, migrant women, gender issues, family status in diaspora, Muslims in Australia, war, children, women and education.
